CATA to Offer Bus Route to Two-Mile Run for Summer Months
The Crawford Area Transportation Authority will offer fixed route public bus transportation from Franklin and Oil City to Crosby Beach at Two-Mile Run beginning July 9th. The bus will operate on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays through the end of August. With the City owned public pools closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this new service was requested by the Venango County Commissioners to offer an opportunity for county residents to swim and enjoy the outdoors. The route is supported by the Venango County Commissioners, the PA Lottery and the PA Department of Transportation.
The first bus will leave the Buffalo Street Gazebo in Franklin at 11:30 arriving at Two-Mile just before noon. The bus will then travel to the Clifford Street Bus Shelter in Oil City and depart for Two-Mile at 12:25. This pattern will continue throughout the day. The last bus will leave Two-Mile at 5:55 and return passengers to Oil City by 6:15 and to Franklin by 6:40.
Fares for a one-way trip are $1.50/adult and $.75/youth age 6-17. People age 65 and over ride free with a PA Senior Transit Pass. Children under age 6 ride free when accompanied by an adult. Details and the full route schedule are available at the Franklin and Oil City libraries, chambers of commerce, and city halls; on any of the CATA buses; and at www.catabus.org.
