Reduced Fare Programs

CATA is pleased to offer a variety of reduced fare and special programs for persons of all ages. Whether you are struggling to find employment, have special needs that require door-to-door transportation, CATA is here to assist you. Listed below are some of the many ways you can find reduced fare options for using the CATA bus. Welfare to Work Program

The Welfare to Work (W2W) program is sponsored by the Bureau of Public Transportation at PennDOT. The W2W program provides discounted door-to-door transportation or FREE transportation on the fixed route buses for persons traveling to and from work. Eligibility Guidelines include maintaining a household income at or below the 235% poverty level and having atleast one dependant child under your care. Eligible transportation includes: transportation from your home to your place of employment and to a daycare facility if childcare is needed. You may complete an application in person at the CATA office or be referred from a social service agency.

Homeless Assistance Program

The Homeless Assistance Program (HAP) is sponsored by a grant from the Crawford County Human Services Department. The HAP program provides FREE door-to-door transportation for persons either homeless, near homeless or living in a transitional living home. You must be referred from a social service agency to quality.

Human Service Development Fund

The Human Service Development Fund (HSDF) program is sponsored by a grant from the Crawford County Human Services Department. The HSDF program provides FREE bus passes for riding the fixed route buses to persons of low income or disability that need transportation for Human Service and/or Life Skill appointment needs. You must be referred from a social service agency to qualify.

Senior Free Transit Program

The Senior Free Transit Program is sponsored by the Bureau of Public Transportation at PennDOT. The Senior Free Transit program is open to all seniors age 65 and older. This program provides discounted door-to-door transportation or FREE rides on the fixed route buses. Applications can be mailed to you or filled out in person at the CATA office, Active Aging in Meadville or the Titusville Senior Citizen Corporation.

Persons with Disabilities Program

The Persons with Disabilities Program (PwD) is sponsored by the Bureau of Public Transportation at PennDOT. The PwD program provides discounted door-to-door transportation for persons who either live or need to travel outside of the fixed route service area. Applications can be mailed to you or filled out in person at the CATA office.
